Overview

The BC Racing V1 Series Coilover System is a complete suspension replacement for the applicable vehicle application. It uses a monotube damper design with a 44mm piston housed in a 50mm diameter damper body. The larger body maximises oil capacity, reducing peak operating temperature for consistent damping performance. Each damper offers 30 clicks of simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment. Ride height is set via the lower mount, independent of spring preload — full damper travel is retained at any height setting. Pillowball (rose-jointed) upper mounts with camber adjustment are included where applicable to the vehicle platform. A bearing-mounted upper spring platform reduces spring bind. A tapered bottom mount locking collar prevents loosening under vibration. Custom spring rates are available. All spare parts are available.

Compatibility

  • PROTON Putra/Coupe

Key Features

  • Monotube damper construction: 44mm piston in a 50mm damper body, maximising oil capacity for reduced peak operating temperature.
  • 30-click simultaneous compression and rebound damping adjustment from a single knob.
  • Ride height adjustable independent of spring preload; lower spring platform adjustable for corner weighting.
  • Pillowball upper mounts (where applicable): aluminium alloy, anodised and bead-blasted, with Japanese-manufactured spherical bearings and camber adjustment where the platform allows.
  • Bearing-mounted upper spring platform allows the spring to rotate freely as it compresses, reducing stiction.
  • Tapered bottom-mount locking collar seats into a matching bevel in the lower mount for increased locking surface.
  • Rubber dust boot protects the damper seal from debris.
  • Custom spring rates available; spare parts available with low lead times.

Configuration Guide

Configuration codes (VS, VM, VN, VA, VH, VT, VL) are printed in the official BC Racing price-list legend. Mount arrangement shown by the BC Racing price-list legend; the available configuration for this application is determined by the official listing. The legend does not explain any distinction between codes that share the same text (VS and VM; VT and VL), and not every V1 product offers every code — only the configurations listed for an application are available.

Code Front mount arrangement Rear mount arrangement
VS Rubber mount included Rubber mount or without mount
VM Rubber mount included Rubber mount or without mount
VA Pillowball / camber top mount included Rubber mount or without mount
VH Pillowball top mount included Pillowball top mount included
VN No top mount — uses the vehicle's original mounting No top mount — uses the vehicle's original mounting
VT Rubber top mount or without Rubber top mount or without

FAQ

What is the BC Racing V1 Series?

The V1 Series is a complete coilover suspension system for the listed vehicle application: monotube damper construction with a 44mm piston in a 50mm damper body, 30 clicks of simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment from a single knob, and ride height set via the lower mount independent of spring preload. Pillowball upper mounts with camber adjustment are included where the vehicle platform allows.

What do the V1 configuration codes mean?

V1 configuration codes (VS, VM, VN, VA, VH, VT, VL) are the configuration labels printed in the official BC Racing price list; each describes the mount arrangement for a configuration as shown in the Configuration Guide on this page. The price-list legend does not explain why a particular vehicle gets one code rather than another, and the available configuration for an application is determined by the official listing — only the configurations offered for your vehicle are shown on the product page.

Does my V1 kit include upper mounts or camber plates?

It depends on the configuration assigned to your application, as printed in the BC Racing price-list legend: VS and VM include a rubber mount at the front, VA includes a pillowball / camber top mount at the front, VH includes pillowball top mounts front and rear, and VN has no top mount and uses the vehicle's original mounting. The Configuration Guide on this page shows the exact arrangement for each code.

Can damping and ride height be adjusted?

Yes. Damping is adjustable over 30 clicks of simultaneous compression and rebound; ride height is set via the lower mount, independent of spring preload, so full damper travel is retained at any height. A professional wheel alignment is required after installation and after any ride-height change.

How do I identify the correct configuration and spring specification for my vehicle?

The configurations offered for your vehicle are the ones listed on this page under the vehicle's application. Where the BC Racing spring list provides a verified pair for the selected application and configuration, this page shows the raw printed values under Front Spring and Rear Spring — they are printed exactly as listed, with no unit defined by the spring list, so they must not be converted into a spring rate or any other engineering value. If no verified spring data exists for your application and configuration, no value is shown; the specification is unconfirmed rather than assumed.
