Overview

MOTUL 6100 SYN-NERGY SPEC 5W-40 is an advanced synthetic Technosynthese® lubricant for High Performance and High Protection, recommended for most European OEMs including Mercedes, VAG (Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda, SEAT, Cupra), BMW, Chrysler, Ford, Fiat, Porsche, Stellantis (Peugeot, Citroën, DS) and Renault. It is specifically designed for powerful and recent-generation gasoline and diesel passenger car engines, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, with indirect or direct injection, and is suitable for all fuel types including leaded/unleaded gasoline, Ethanol, LPG, Diesel and biofuels. Compatible with catalytic converters.

Compatibility

Compatibility information not available.

Key Features

  • ACEA B4-level detergent/dispersant power and viscosity-increase resistance against soot from Direct Injection Diesel engines
  • VW 501 00 / 505 00-level detergent/dispersant power, high oil film resistance, viscosity-increase resistance for many VAG gasoline and some diesel engines
  • API SN performance — fully backward compatible with API SM and all former API standards; outstanding oxidation resistance, better anti-deposit protection and engine cleanliness, anti-wear protection, enhanced cold-temperature performance for fuel economy
  • Meets BMW LL-01 performance for BMW/MINI/Rolls-Royce vehicles up to model year 2019 only (2019-onward BMW/MINI/Rolls-Royce vehicles requiring BMW LL-01 need a different Motul product)
  • Meets Chrysler MS 12991 / MS 10725 / MS 10896 performance levels for Chrysler/Dodge/Dodge RAM/Jeep vehicles
  • Meets Fiat 9.55535-H2/M2/N2/Z2 performance for Fiat/Alfa Romeo/Lancia gasoline and diesel engines (pre-July 2007)
  • Meets Mercedes MB 229.5 (extended drain interval, ACEA B4 detergent power, 1.7% fuel economy improvement vs a 15W-40 reference oil) for Mercedes gasoline (incl. AMG, except SLR) and diesel-without-DPF engines
  • Meets PSA B71 2296 — high thermal stability, resistance to black sludge/viscosity increase from soot
  • Meets Porsche A40 — extreme high shear resistance (all Porsche engines except Cayenne V6/Diesel, which require Porsche C30 lubricant instead)
  • Meets Renault RN0700 (naturally aspirated gasoline except Renault Sport; 1.5L dCi diesel without DPF, under 100hp) and RN0710 (turbocharged gasoline, Renault Sport, diesel without DPF)

Applications

  • Powerful, recent-generation gasoline and diesel passenger car engines — naturally aspirated or turbocharged, indirect or direct injection
  • Multi-OEM European fleet compatibility: Mercedes, VAG (Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda, SEAT, Cupra), BMW (pre-2019), Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, Fiat/Alfa Romeo/Lancia (pre-July 2007), Porsche, Stellantis (Peugeot, Citroën, DS), Renault
  • Vehicles running leaded/unleaded gasoline, Ethanol, LPG, Diesel and biofuels
  • Vehicles fitted with catalytic converters
