Overview
MOTUL MULTI ATF is a 100% Synthetic High Performance lubricant specially engineered for most modern automatic transmissions (manual mode, sequential mode, electronically controlled), with or without slip lockup clutch. Particularly recommended for automatic gearboxes of American (GM, Ford, Chrysler), Asian (Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, SsangYong, Subaru, Toyota) and European (BMW, Citroën, Fiat, Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, Renault) makes, and also suitable for older automatic gearboxes, torque converters, power steering, boat reverse gears, hydrostatic transmissions and mechanical/hydraulic systems requiring a DEXRON (except DEXRON VI) or MERCON fluid.
Compatibility
Compatibility information not available.
Key Features
- Fuel economy via reduced epicyclical gear friction
- Anti-shudder performance, avoids flywheel vibration
- Protects numerous, compact, heavily loaded gears
- Smooth shift feel, minimized shift time lag
- Improves cold-temperature gearbox reaction
- Extended lifetime, better shear stability at hot temperature, oxidation resistance
- Anti-wear, anti-corrosion, anti-foam
Applications
- Modern automatic transmissions (manual mode, sequential mode, electronically controlled), with or without slip lockup clutch
- Torque converters, power steering systems, boat reverse gears, hydrostatic transmissions
- Older automatic gearboxes and mechanical/hydraulic systems requiring DEXRON (except DEXRON VI) or MERCON fluid
- Broad OE fitment across American, Asian and European automatic-transmission vehicles (see Specifications — OEM Recommendations & Performance Levels)
- Not a general-purpose CVT fluid — several OEM fitments explicitly exclude CVT applications

Directions for Use
Confirm your transmission's fluid requirement against the OEM fitment list before use (DEXRON III / MERCON performance level, except DEXRON VI). Refer to the vehicle or equipment manufacturer's instructions for the correct fill procedure and capacity. Can be mixed with similar lubricants. Change interval: according to the manufacturer's recommendations, adapted to your own use. Dispose of used fluid responsibly at an authorised collection point.
Installation and usage guidance is general reference only. Manufacturer instructions take precedence. Visitors uncertain about installation or use should seek professional advice.
FAQ
Is Motul Multi ATF compatible with DEXRON/MERCON transmission systems?
Yes — it delivers outstanding performance versus DEXRON III and MERCON standards requirements (except DEXRON VI).
What colour is Motul Multi ATF?
Red.
Can Motul Multi ATF be used in a CVT?
It is not a general-purpose CVT fluid — several of its OEM fitments explicitly exclude CVT applications (e.g. "ATF Z1 (except CVTs)"). Check your vehicle's specific CVT fluid requirement.
