Overview
A modern 0W-20 low-friction oil for the latest European, Asian and American engines, including engines with start-stop systems. Is Top Tec 6600 0W-20 good for Malaysia's hot weather and traffic jams?
Yes, as long as your manufacturer specifies this grade. The second number (20) describes viscosity at operating temperature, so it is not too thin in tropical heat for engines designed for it. Its shear-stable formula keeps a steady lubricating film through long idling in traffic, and the low friction helps fuel economy in stop-go driving.
Can I mix Top Tec 6600 0W-20 with other oils, and is it safe for turbo and DPF engines?
You can top up with another engine oil in an emergency, but use the same oil where possible: mixing with a normal-ash oil reduces the low-ash protection for particulate filters. It is a low-ash formula suitable for engines with particulate filters, and it is tested for turbochargers and catalytic converters.
